The last few years of João Félix's career have been one of modern football's saddest disappointments.
Since making that incredible €126m switch from boyhood club Benfica to Atlético de Madrid in the summer of 2019, the Portuguese has rarely - if ever - lived up to his hefty price-tag, and this season in particular, it felt like he was in danger of truly losing his way.
But after being unwanted by Chelsea and making a move to AC Milan late in the window, there are already signs that Félix is beginning to rediscover his mojo.
Coming off the bench in Wednesday's Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Roma, the 25-year-old wasted no time at all in introducing himself to his new club, with a delightful finish to make it 3-1.
That was how the game ended, with fellow former Chelsea man Tammy Abraham also bagging a brace on the night against another of his former clubs.
Félix is still a young man and hopefully, Wednesday night was the first day of the rest of his career.
