Jonathan Bamba will officially become a Celta Vigo player in the next few hours, according to Marca.
The Ivorian winger landed in the Algarve on Monday to join up with the Celta squad for pre-season training.
The 27-year-old will be the club’s second new signing of the summer, joining on a free transfer, as manager Rafa Benítez continues to build his squad at Balaídos after the arrival of Manu Sánchez from Atlético Madrid.
In Ligue 1 Bamba made 225 appearances, scoring a total of 38 goals. Last season he played 34 games for Lille, and was on the field for a total of 2,789 minutes, scoring six goals.
Wanted by different clubs, Celta sporting advisor Luís Campos has been decisive in the deal going ahead, since he was the one who signed him during his spell as sporting director of Lille before Bamba went on to become a Ligue 1 champion in 2021.
On Monday, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr lost 5-0 against Celta in a friendly match between the sides in the Algarve.
