Ansu Fati’s ongoing struggles with injuries and form have created uncertainty about his future at Barcelona, with his prospects for a transfer now becoming increasingly bleak.
According to recent reports from MARCA, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has decided against pursuing the young forward in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Ansu’s career has been marred by recurring fitness issues, and just last week, he faced another setback. Barcelona announced that the 22-year-old had suffered a muscle injury in the hamstring of his right leg, sidelining him for approximately four weeks.
This means he is expected to return just before the matches leading up to the Christmas break. However, this latest injury only adds to the challenges for a player whose performances have not met expectations in recent times.
Fenerbahce, previously interested in signing Ansu, have now ruled out making a move. Mourinho’s decision, however, was not directly influenced by this new injury.
Reports suggest that the Portuguese coach had already decided against bringing in the Barcelona attacker even before the latest hamstring issue.

While the injury is a contributing factor, it is not the primary reason for Fenerbahce stepping away from the potential deal.
Ansu had been considered by Mourinho during the summer transfer window as one of the potential reinforcements for his squad.
The plan was to evaluate the player’s condition after training under Barcelona manager Hansi Flick. Unfortunately, an earlier foot injury prevented any serious negotiations.
Despite this, the player remained a possible option for Fenerbahce heading into the winter window.
However, his lack of form since returning to the pitch has further diminished his appeal. Flick has provided limited opportunities for the forward, reflecting a lack of confidence in his current abilities.
This latest injury marks the third significant setback for Ansu in a single calendar year, further complicating his path to rediscovering his form. For now, it seems unlikely that Mourinho or Fenerbahce will revisit their interest, leaving Ansu’s future at Barcelona uncertain.
