Juan Fernando Quintero has torn up South America in recent years and it’s no wonder why he’s been linked to some of Europe’s elite clubs.
The Colombian international looked to be on the verge of a move to Real Madrid last year but suffered a torn ACL that caused him to miss more than seven months on the pitch.
The 27-year-old returned to action in October and, with a reported €22m release clause, is back in the minds of top European clubs.
One of those clubs is Ajax but it appears that the Dutch giants will be priced out for the number 10 as they are only willing to pay €15m.
Quintero joined River Plate on loan from Porto in 2018 and finished second in voting for the South American Player of the Year award as he helped the Argentines win the Copa Libertadores title, which convinced River to trigger his €3.5m release clause.
