Jurgen Klopp turns down Real Madrid amid Carlo Ancelotti exit speculation | OneFootball

Jurgen Klopp’s agent has dismissed claims that the former Liverpool manager is already considering leaving his new role at Red Bull amid interest from Real Madrid.

The German tactician was rumoured to be eyeing a return to management, and the prospect of taking charge of Madrid reportedly appealed to him.

Los Blancos have decided to move on from Carlo Ancelotti after their humiliating Champions League quarter-final exit, and Klopp was considered the ideal successor.

However, his agent – Marc Kosicke – has shut down those rumours, claiming the German has ‘no intention’ of cutting short his hiatus from management.

Kosicke told Sky Sport Deutschland (via SPORT): “I understand that there have been continued enquiries about Klopp from Europe’s top clubs and some federations.

“However, he has no intention of taking over as head coach next season. Not even at Real Madrid or with the Brazilian national team.

“Jurgen is happy in his role as global director of Red Bull and has a current contract, so there’s nothing more to say.”

Klopp called time on his managerial career after his emotional exit from Liverpool last season.

He managed nearly 500 games for the Reds and won several trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

He joined Red Bull in January and signed a five-year contract.

Given how worn out he claimed to be following his spell on Merseyside, many people were stunned by his decision to step into the corporate side of football with Red Bull.

He oversees the football operations across RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls, which allows him to pocket around £12 million annually.

With Klopp out of the picture, Madrid could reignite their interest in Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti is already plotting his next move. He has reportedly held talks with Brazil about replacing Dorival Junior, who was relieved of his duties after a humiliating 4-1 defeat against Argentina.
