Juventus have begun discussions with the representatives of Next Gen graduate Samuel Mbangula over a new and improved, long-term contract extension, according to Saturday’s reports.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Friday that the Bianconeri were planning to hand a new deal to the impressive break-out star of the first few games of the 2024-25 season.
Saturday’s updates confirm that discussions are underway, and that Juventus are expecting the 20-year-old to sign off on a five-year deal until the summer of 2029.
Calciomercato.com add that Mbangula is currently earning around €100,000 per season on his Next Gen contract, and that he is expected to be handed a significant wage increase after being promoted to a first-team regular.
Though Thiago Motta originally used Mbangula as somewhat of an experiment, with few other wingers to choose form during pre-season, he has shown that he is capable of performing in Serie A, and could keep hold of his starting spot after the international break.
Juventus have lost Francisco Conceicao for a number of weeks with a muscular issue, while Nico Gonzalez suffered a blow to his heel with Argentina, which requires further assessment.
