Juventus are exploring a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei on loan in the January transfer window.
Casadei has struggled for regular first-team football at Chelsea and has made just three starts in all competitions this season. The 21-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Leicester but has barely featured since being recalled last January.
Calciomercato are reporting that Juventus are now lining up a deal for Casadei. A highly-rated figure in the Italy set-up, he has thrived for the Azzurri at youth level.
Casadei won the FIFA u-20 World Cup Golden Ball and Golden Boot after scoring seven times during Italy’s run to the final in 2023.
A product of the Inter Milan academy, he joined Chelsea in a deal that could reach €20m in 2022. However, he has made just 16 senior appearances for the West Londoners and could now be offered a route back to Serie A.
He is suspended for Thursday’s clash at Astana in the Europa Conference League, after he was sent off in stoppage time of the win at Heidenheim last month.
