Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp seemed to concur with Get German Football News‘ assessment of his team’s performance following Sunday’s Bundesliga defeat against Bayern Munich.
Despite the 4-0 scoreline (and an xG ratio of 4.3 to 0.69 for the hosts), the SGE captain thought there were plenty of positives about the first half and some of Frankfurt’s play. That obviously didn’t excuse the flagrant goalkeeping error that allowed the record champions to score their second goal.
“The result is clear, but I nevertheless feel as if we played well at times,” Trapp told DAZN. “Of course, that sounds strange after a 4-0 defeat, but we were brave and tried a lot. It wasn’t all bad. Bayern, of course, have quality. They then also take brutal advantage of things.
“I don’t have to look for excuses or make any excuses,” Trapp said of his 61st minute mistake. “Of course, I take responsibility. Why, how, and for what reason it happened, I don’t have to explain now.”
