Paris Saint-Germain have signed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli in a major transfer coup, leaving Chelsea and Liverpool to rue a missed opportunity.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee for the Georgian winger will exceed €70 million.

Kvaratskhelia is widely regarded as one of the most exciting wingers in European football after spearheading Napoli to their third Serie A title in 2022/23 alongside Victor Osimhen.

The 22-year-old has committed to a five-year contract with PSG, tying him to the club until 2030.

He was linked with the club last summer amid discussions with Napoli over a renewal. He never signed that new deal, allowing PSG to pounce.

The news will be a bitter disappointment for Chelsea and Liverpool. The Premier League giants had been linked with the Napoli star.

Despite their interest, PSG’s financial muscle and project proved too compelling to resist for Kvaratskhelia.

His arrival adds depth and flair to PSG’s attack, with Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Lee Kang-in and Bradley Barcola already in the squad.

If Liverpool and Chelsea are desperate to compensate for missing out on Kvaratskhelia, Barcola is there for the taking.

The fleet-footed winger has bagged ten Ligue 1 goals this season but has reportedly fallen out of favour with manager Luis Enrique.

He would be a brilliant pick-up for either Premier League club.
