The start of 2025 has been rather shocking to many LA Galaxy fans and their neighbors. For multiple days now, the blistering fires in Southern California have blazed a trail this month.

Many have endured the ill-fortune of seeing their home burn down, losing everything in the process. The ongoing fires have affected many Los Angeles based areas including Malibu and Santa Monica, among others.

Among the many homes that have been destroyed and the several lives that have been affected, safety concerns continue to rise. Both the NBA and NHL have canceled games recently for both the Lakers and Clippers, as well as the Kings.

The NFL has also elected to move Monday night's NFC Wild Card game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings to Glendale, Arizona. This is where the Arizona Cardinals play their home football games.

High-speed winds have led to the increase in damage and the range the fires have spread. As of Sunday, NBC4-LA reported that the death toll has reached 16 people. The Associated Press News stated that '"the LA County fires could be the costliest in US history."
