Alaves successfully shopped in Segunda in January to sign Racing de Ferrol winger Carlos Vicente, who has had an impact for Luis Garcia Plaza and are hoping to repeat the trick this summer.

They may have to contend with the loss of star forward Luis Rioja, who is a target for Real Betis and Valencia. The veteran winger, who was their top scorer last season, has a year left on his deal this summer, and is also a Betis fan, and so they may choose to cash in on him. Meanwhile the loans of Atletico Madrid duo Giovanni Simeone and Samu Omorodion are expiring in the summer.

According to Diario AS, they have set their sights on Racing Santander winger Inigo Vicente. With 11 assists and three goals to his name in 35 appearances, he leads the charts for providing goals in Segunda. The 26-year-old has been key in their play-off push, and has a release clause of €6m, but a contract until 2027. Meanwhile Las Palmas are another Primera side that may try to tempt Vicente this summer.

Alaves are sailing to a successful midtable finish this season, despite not spending much last summer, and having one of the bottom two salary limits in La Liga. They got their business right in the loan market though, and will have their work cut out finding another forward as dangerous as Omorodion.
