Lamine Yamal added another prestigious accolade to his rapidly growing list of achievements.
After winning the UEFA Euro 2024 last summer with Spain in Germany, securing the Kopa Trophy from France Football and the Golden Boy award from Tuttosport, the young Barcelona forward was named the Globe Soccer Award’s Best Emerging Player in Dubai today.
Lamine was accompanied by his agent Jorge Mendes, and Barcelona executives Xavi Puig and Joan Soler at the ceremony.
triumphed in the voting ahead of his teammate Pau Cubarsi, as well as Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, Manchester City’s Savinho, United’s Mainoo, and Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz.
With this, Lamine has capped off a remarkable 2024, despite the slight disappointment of not winning titles with Barcelona and suffering an ankle injury towards the end of the year.
Addressing the attendees after picking up the award, Lamine thanked his family, Barcelona, and his managers, past and present, for him being able to achieve all this.
“Hello everyone, I want to thank Globe Soccer for the award, my family, my mother and my brother, for being here with me, my father, who could not come and is in Barcelona, I love you very much,” the young Barcelona star began.
Lamine extended his thanks to his teammates and coaches as well, saying:
“Thanks to Barça, my club, of which I am proud, and to the Spanish national team with whom we won the European Championship. Many thanks to everyone, to my teammates, the staff, the coaches, Xavi, now Flick, and De la Fuente. Shukran.”
