Latest Leicester transfer rumours: Emmanuel Latte Lath, Thomas Kristensen

We assess the latest Leicester City rumours now that we have entered January and the transfer market is open. The Foxes are said to want to strengthen their squad, thankfully! And credible sources have even named some positions and actual players who may come to King Power Stadium.

It is claimed by journalists, as well as optimistic LCFC manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, that City have money to spend this month. Although, the east Midlanders would much prefer to secure a cheeky foreign loan or find some bargains with rapidly expiring contacts. Wouldn't every club?! Yet at least Leicester are willing to add to their frankly inadequate ranks.

Today we look at a couple of King Power stories doing the rounds. The two players most recently linked with a move to Filbert Way are Middlesbrough's Emmanuel Latte Lath, along with Thomas Thiesson Kristensen of Udinese Calcio. What have we heard about the pair? And are agreements likely?

Leicester City reportedly 'in race' to sign player ahead of Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs are eager to add qualified defenders to their roster this winter, if we trust claims in the media. Speculation which comes at no surprise if you've watched Tottenham this season or seen their injury list.

But the north Londoners may have to tread carefully with other teams supposedly interested in their targets. Thiesson Kristensen is apparently one such man. By the way, he isn't related to Victor Kristiansen. As I'm sure you've noticed, their surnames are spelled differently.

"Looking to welcome an instant boost in pursuit of Premier League survival, Leicester City are now reportedly racing to sign a defender worth as much as £16.5m ahead of Tottenham Hotspur this month."Sport Witness

Foxes want striker?

Leicester do seek another centre forward. Will that signing ultimately be Latte Lath? The Northern Echo's Dominic Shaw declares that 'no contact' has transpired between the Leicestershire outfit and Boro.

City do, however, wish to add a striker to their options. Jamie Vardy can't do as much as we'd wish. While Patson Daka is inconsistent, Odsonne Edouard is not fancied. Both deals seems realistic.

"Reports emerged late on Thursday night claiming the Premier League side were close to agreeing a £12m deal to sign the striker. But Boro have not been approached by Leicester. And if any clubs are serious about signing Latte Lath this month, they'd have to pay significantly more than £12m.Boro rejected Ipswich's £20m approach on deadline day in the summer and Latte Lath has since enhanced his reputation with nine Championship goals."
