Serie A holders Inter have finally broken the deadlock at San Siro thanks to star striker Lautaro Martínez.

The 27-year-old club captain and Argentine international hit a curling effort from beyond 20 yards to beat Empoli shot-stopper Devis Vásquez to give the home side a deserved lead on the night.

With that strike, Martínez climbed to joint second in the all-time Serie A goalscoring chart at Inter for a foreign-born player, reaching 111 goals and pulling level with compatriot Mauro Icardi.

Only former Hungarian star István Nyers (133) can claim more goals than the Argentine duo when he headlined for the Lombardy-based club from 1948-54.

Now only reaching his peek playing years, Martínez still has more of his story to tell in the fashion capital.
