Milan Women suffered a very disappointing defeat against a struggling Lazio side earlier today, conceding two goals in the process. To make matters worse, their former player was the culprit.

Suzanne Bakker’s side headed into the clash with some confidence after the good 1-1 draw against Inter in the derby. However, it ended up being a very disappointing affair away at Lazio as their former striker Martina Piemonte scored a brace.

As highlighted by our correspondent Luca Maninetti, it was certainly a step back for the Rossonere and the race for a play-off spot is looking very complicated. Currently, they are 6th with 15 points after 13 games, five points ahead of Lazio in 7th place.

It should be noted that an important player, namely Chante Dompig, missed the match due to a muscular injury. Either way, questions can be asked about Bakker’s tactics as the team hasn’t won for over a month – and that was in the Coppa Italia.

In the last five games, in fact, the Rossonere have two draws and three defeats which is far from good enough.
