Deportivo La Coruna are interested in signing Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani in the summer window.
Deportivo La Coruna are interested in signing Largie Ramazani from Leeds United after his underwhelming first season in English football.
The Championship leaders paid around €11m to sign the 24-year-old from Almeria in the summer of 2024, with Ramazani brought in as someone who could help replace Crysencio Summerville after his switch to West Ham.
However, things haven’t really gone to plan for the Belgian at Elland Road, as he has found himself down the pecking order, with many of his 25 league appearances coming from the bench.
Even though he has shown his talent on occasions, and chipped in with four goals, Daniel Farke has preferred the likes of Dan James, Manor Solomon and Wilfried Gnonto to Ramazani when it comes to his options out wide.
And, it appears Ramazani could be offered the chance to return to Spain after just one year with the Whites, as El Gol Digital has revealed that Deportivo have made him a prime target ahead of the summer window.
The La Liga 2 side are expected to cash in on exciting talent Yeremay Hernandez, with the report stating Como could be ready to meet his €35m release clause.
If that happens, they will be in a position to spend, and Ramazani is seen as a player who could offer a similar threat in the final third, and he has experience in the top two Spanish divisions with Almeria.
The update adds that Ramazani was expecting to be a more prominent figure at Leeds, so he may be open to a switch back to Spain following his departure from Almeria less than a year ago.
There’s no denying that Ramazani hasn’t lived up to expectations so far, although it should be noted that he is still a young player who is adapting to a new league.
Nevertheless, Leeds are well-stocked for wide players, and he would need to be at his best to get in the XI ahead of James, Solomon or Gnonto.
As of now, that seems unlikely, and if Leeds win promotion, there will be further doubts over whether Ramazani is good enough for the Premier League.
So, it’s one to monitor in the summer, and you wouldn’t be surprised if Ramazani did depart, but there may be more clubs interested than just Deportivo.
In the meantime, Ramazani’s only focus will be on trying to get some game time during the run-in, as he looks to help take Leeds back to the top-flight.
