This is according to The Sun (Goals pull-out, page 10), with the Whites open to listening to offers for the Italian.

The winger's future at Elland Road has been the subject of speculation for a decent chunk of his spell - and real doubt was cast over his future back in the summer of 2023, following the West Yorkshire side's relegation from the Premier League.

In August 2023, the wide player had made himself unavailable for a few games, after he and his representatives were told that he would not be sold during that summer window.

Leeds stuck to their guns and Gnonto ended up becoming a key part of the first team, though it took him a while to get going in the 2023/24 campaign due to this transfer saga and an injury problem he picked up against Hull City.

During the early stages of this season, he was one of the first names on the teamsheet, but hasn't started as many games in recent times, with Manor Solomon and Dan James keeping him out of the starting lineup.

He can play centrally when needed, but Daniel Farke has left him on the bench at times, and he was even an unused substitute against Burnley on Monday evening.

Leeds United stance on Willy Gnonto emerges

According to The Sun (via MOT Leeds News), Leeds are open to offers for Gnonto, amid his current lack of game time.

It's believed that the player is the subject of interest from several clubs from Saudi Arabia this month and it's a move the Italian could make, with plenty of players from English teams making similar switches in recent years, including Ivan Toney.

Football Insider previously reported that Leeds were keen to retain the player beyond the end of the January window, but it now seems as though they are open to offers for the player, who only penned a new four-year contract with the club back in August.

Leeds United may have mixed feelings on Willy Gnonto

It's a difficult one for Leeds to weigh up.

Gnonto, 21, is only likely to get better and has a huge amount of potential.

He could also establish himself as a key player at Elland Road again - and could even make an impact from the bench if needed.

But at 21, and with the amount of time he has left on his contract in mind, he may be able to be sold for a very decent amount.

That cash could be reinvested in the playing squad, either during this window or in the summer, when they could need an injection of quality if they are promoted.
