Former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has heaped praise on the current Barça side, expressing his admiration for the footballing identity Hansi Flick has instilled in his first season at the helm.

Now playing for Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer, the Uruguayan legend did not hold back his excitement for the new-look Barcelona, saying, “I love Barcelona today.”

Speaking to the media (h/t SPORT), Suarez underlined the remarkable transformation the team has undergone under Flick’s guidance.

“He has brought impressive dynamics, football and efficiency to the team,” said Suarez, clearly pleased with the way Barça have recovered from recent struggles to become one of Europe’s most exciting sides once again.

Suarez, who scored over 190 goals for the Catalan giants between 2014 and 2020, also said that Barcelona “have a very high level and there are two players who are above average and make the difference, which are Lamine Yamal and Pedri.”

The 38-year-old forward was especially impressed with Pedri’s recent level of play. “Pedri… I am seeing a level of play that surprises me at the high level he is achieving, and Yamal is surprising me because of how old he is.”

Suarez also took a moment to highlight the contributions of other squad members. “They have other players, like Raphinha, who score at essential moments,” he said, acknowledging the Brazilian’s knack for delivering when it matters most.

As Barcelona move closer to achieving La Liga success, comments from former players like Suarez will only boost confidence around the dressing room.
