Sottil has burst on to the scene this season, playing eight times in all competitions for the Viola as well as representing Italy at under-21 level.

And according to Fox Sports, that performance was enough for the east Midlands outfit to try and make their move this winter.

Leicester are on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy and see Sottil as the ideal back-up as they chase an unlikely Champions League place.

It’s unclear as to how much Fiorentina value the youngster but initial reports suggest an offer of around €18m could be enough to see the forward join the Premier League side.
