RC Lens have submitted an offer for Olympique Lyonnais forward Gift Orban (22), according to a report from L’Équipe. However, the bid does not meet OL’s valuation of the player.
It is no secret that OL will have to sell players this January. The club were handed a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 by the DNCG in November and in order to avoid that fate, they must sell players before the end of the campaign. Orban is one of the players earmarked for a departure and there is interest in the striker.
The Nigerian has been on the periphery at Lyon ever since his arrival last January for a fee of €14m. Lyon have set an asking price of €12m. Hoffenheim have a strong interest in the player and have already submitted two bids, the latter worth €10m, as per L’Équipe.
However, Lens are also interested and have submitted a bid of their own on Monday. Whilst the value of the offer has not been revealed, L’Équipe understands that it is below Lyon’s valuation for Orban.
