Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim doesn’t rule out seeing Alejandro Garnacho leave the club before the end of the January transfer session.

The 20-year-old was in the starting lineup in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Rangers which ended with a 2-1 victory for the Red Devils following a dramatic finale. While the Argentine didn’t offer a goal contribution, he still managed to put on a solid display that earned him praise from his manager.

However, Amorim admitted that the winger could be on his way out of the club, failing to offer any reassurances on the player’s future.

“He’s playing for Manchester United. He was really important for us today. Let’s see in the next days,” said the 39-year-old when asked about Garnacho’s future in his post-match interview via Sky Sports.

“I think he’s improving in every aspect of the game. He was better today playing inside and also outside, changing positions. He’s improving the recovery position. You can see it. For the whole 90 minutes, he’s always there recovering and helping. Sometimes showing some frustration is really good because he wants more.” I think he has the potential to be so much better in every situation of the game.”

While Garnacho was in the starting lineup yesterday, he had been dropped more often than not with Amorim in charge. The Argentina international is a natural winger, so he’s been trying to adjust his game to fit in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

In the meantime, Napoli have been pursuing the youngster with great intent as they look to replace Khicha Kvaratskhelia, while the player’s agent has recently fueled speculations of a potential transfer to Chelsea by making an appearance at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

So with Amorim failing to deliver a definitive answer, Garnacho’s fate remains anyone’s guess at this point.
