The rumored transfer of Argentine attacking prospect Alejo Sarco to Bayer 04 Leverkusen is officially through. The 18-year-old joins Germany's red company team on a free transfer from Velez Sarsfield and receives a professional contract valid through 2029.

Sarco is not expected to contribute to die Werkself immediately, as confirmed by statements issued both by the player and club management. The Argentina U17 international isn't among the additions Leverkusen are considering to bolster their title prospects.

“Alejo Sarco is a promise for the future of Bayer 04 Leverkusen,” B04 managing director Simon Rolfes explained on the club's website. "With his finishing skills, he completes the profile of a modern center forward. Alejo has a promising career ahead of him.”

“This step towards a top club in Europe; something I've always dreamt of,” the player added. “I followed the club's magnificent season last year. It's exciting for me to be part of this team in the future, and it's a great challenge to strengthen them with my abilities.”
