Liam Rosenior believes in Strasbourg’s chances of European qualification | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace are flying under Liam Rosenior. Bar runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain (28), no side has picked up more points than Les Alsaciens (23) in the last 10 games in Ligue 1.

The achievement is even more impressive given that Rosenior was only appointed two weeks before the start of the season. “Without wanting to disrespect anyone, my ideas are very different from other people’s,” the Englishman told AFP. However, in a young squad, he has instilled that playstyle and has them aiming high.

Strasbourg, prior to BlueCo’s takeover in 2023, were a side of relatively meagre means and one that often found themselves in a fight against relegation. However, RCSA now have means and this season they have been put to good use. The club are very much in the fight for European football for next season.

Currently seventh, Strasbourg are just four points behind AS Monaco and OGC Nice, both of whom sit in the UEFA Champions League places. However, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League football qualification would still constitute a big success for the club.

“Why not?” asked Rosenior when questioned about the possibility of European qualification by AFP. “We are in the world of football to dream. I will never prevent my players from dreaming. It’s not arrogance, but we are four points away from third with eight games to play. Of course, it’s possible!”
