According to a report from L’Équipe, RC Strasbourg Alsace head coach Liam Rosenior will not take any chances with Habib Diarra’s (21) injury after the club captain was forced to leave the pitch in the 57th minute during last weekend’s 0-0 draw with AS Monaco.
Diarra had suffered an ankle injury at the start of March during Strasbourg’s 1-0 victory over AJ Auxerre. It was an injury that saw him miss the next three games before he made his return off the bench against Stade de Reims, before starting the following match against OGC Nice.
However, against Monaco, the captain relapsed. There has been some promising news in that Diarra was able to return to training on Tuesday, however, he is reportedly still feeling the effects of his injury, and Rosenior will not risk aggravating the injury by playing him against AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday afternoon.
Strasbourg remain in the hunt for automatic qualification to the Champions League, with three points separating them from Monaco in third.
