Challenger Pro League side side Lierse have announced the signing of French teenager Exaucé Mafoumbi. The striker joins the club on loan from Championship side Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season. Lierse are currently sixth in the Belgian second tier, the final spot for the play-offs. They have a one point lead over seventh placed Beveren but have played one game more. The side have scored 28 goals in 19 games so far.

Mafoumbi has yet to make a senior appearance in Lancashire since moving to Blackburn. He began his career in his native France with Nantes before moving to join Rovers in the summer. He never made a senior appearance in France either, meaning that he is likely to experience senior men’s football for the first time in Belgium. Given his age and the limited time he has spent in the Championship, there is no purchase option included as part of the loan deal.
