Necaxa won a fourth consecutive match this weekend with a convincing result against Mazatlán. Climbing to third in the league, Diber Cambindo came off the bench to score his ninth goal in as many games to secure a valuable win against a Mazatlán side looking to end a three-game winless run.

Puebla 2-1 Tijuana

Puebla doubled their number of wins under Pablo Guede as Emiliano Gomez converted from the spot before Richard Martin scored for a third straight game since joining the club from Chivas on loan. Los Xolos may have reached the Apertura Liguilla but this result leaves them with just one win in eight, stuck in16th place.

Juárez 0-4 Toluca

Paulinho was on hand for a hattrick as Toluca recorded a statement win against fellow Liguilla hopefuls Juárez. Antonio Mohamed's side stretched their unbeaten run to five games to keep pace at the top of the Clausura table, climbing above Los Bravos with a defiant three points.

León 1-0 Tigres

León stay at the top of the table, three points above Club América. They ended a three-game winless head-to-head record with Tigres as Stiven Mendoza caught Nahuel Guzman far off his line to squeeze in a cross at the near post to net the only goal of the game.

Monterrey 3-1 San Luis

All eyes on the Estadio BBVA, Los Rayados introduced the home fans to World Cup winner Sergio Ramos. The 38-year-old captained as they raced into a 3-0 lead. A brace from Germán Berterame either side of Óliver Torres' third goal of the season set the tone before Vitinho grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors.

Chivas 2-1 Pachuca

Los Rojiblancos came from behind to defeat Pachuca. Arturo González gave the visitors an early lead to silence the Estadio Akron but a quick reply from Alan Pullido began the comeback efforts as Luis Romo completed the mission ten minutes before the end of the first half. Chivas climbed to tenth with the win, two points behind the weekend guests.

Pumas 0-2 Club América

Mexico City stopped on Saturday night for a clash of Pumas and América. This has been a bogey fixture as of late for Las Águilas, who have lost the last two encounters with Pumas but goals from Israel Reyes and Álvaro Fidalgo either side of the break demonstrated the gulf in quality between the reigning champions and a Pumas side stuck outside the Liguilla places.

Santos Laguna 2 vs 0 Atlas

Up and running for the Clausura, Fernando Ortiz recorded a first win as Santos Laguna boss with a comfortable win over Atlas. Chilean Bruno Barticciotto opened his account for the club following a loan move from Talleres in Argentina last week, with a 1-1 draw with Mazatlán. This week, his double was enough to secure maximum points for the side who were able to climb off the bottom.

Crux Azul relied on a second-half winner to overcome the challenge of Querétaro. Ángel Sepúlveda's only goal of the game was enough as Cruz Azul made it five wins from six in the league, climbing to fourth in the league as the weekend results saw Los Gallos fall to fourteenth, four points adrift of the playoff places.
