It wasn’t a fruitful summer transfer window for Montpellier HSC, who before September 1st, only secured one arrival – Rabby Nzingoula (19). The midfielder arrived on loan from RC Strasbourg Alsace without the potential to make the deal permanent.
In many ways, it was a deal that made little sense from a Montpellier point of view. Given his inexperience, it didn’t look like he was capable of being the difference-maker, whilst there was no potential to make any money out of his development, given that there was no prospect of making the deal permanent.
However, Nzingoula has made a difference for La Paillade, even if the club still sit rock bottom. He has featured in 11 games and shown why he is so highly rated at Strasbourg. However, his potential is now also evident to other clubs, notably Lille OSC, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
Montpellier doesn’t have the means to sign the France U20 international, however, Lille certainly do and they could make an approach.
