PSG boasted of world football’s most lethal attacking trio not too long ago. In Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, they had three of football’s greatest forwards who, on paper, looked unbeatable.

The trio did indeed conquer the league title but fell short in the UEFA Champions League time and time again. Eventually, each moved their individual way with Neymar taking the ticket to Saudi Arabia, Mbappe to Spain and Messi to the United States.

PSG, meanwhile, have shifted to a more homegrown system with the spotlight equally shared amongst all eleven players on the field.

Messi was not happy in Paris

Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo recently, former Toulouse and Charlotte midfielder Brecht Dejaegere revealed one of his conversations with Lionel Messi where the Argentine legend expressed his unhappiness at PSG.

“I asked him after full-time if he felt better in Miami than he did in France. He told me that being at PSG was sh**. Yes, sh**.”

After his two-year stint at Paris, the World Cup winner left for Inter Miami in the United States where he is still rendering his services.

While his hatred towards PSG may be for a plethora of reasons, one of the most notable incidents that comes to mind was the lack of respect he received after winning the World Cup and returning to Paris.

Yet, that was understandable considering it was the French national team they beat in the finals and that the result thus did not go down well with the ultras.

In his final Ligue 1 season for PSG, the forward scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists for the club with 29 big chances created and an average of three key passes per game.
