Liverpool may reportedly have been given a boost ahead of the summer transfer window when they face the very real possibility of needing a new right-back.
The Reds are flying on the pitch at the moment, but off the field there are some concerns, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold coming towards the end of his contract.
The England international still hasn’t put pen to paper on a new deal, and it’s becoming increasingly likely that he could be about to walk away from Anfield on a free transfer.
If that happens, it would be a huge blow for Liverpool and a big challenge to replace him, but it seems they have one name in mind for that role.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool like Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto as a potential target to replace Alexander-Arnold, and he’s just changed agents.
It could be that this means the young Frenchman is open to considering his future in the summer, and it may even be that this has followed him learning of Liverpool’s interest.
Gusto has also been linked with LFC by Simon Phillips in recent times, so it seems there is some long-established interest there.
Even if Chelsea’s project is a potentially exciting one, it’s also still clear that they’re a long way from being able to properly challenge the likes of Liverpool for the Premier League title.
That could convince Gusto that he’d be better off leaving to further his career, and a move to Arne Slot’s in-form side makes sense as one that would be highly tempting.
The 21-year-old has shone during his time at Stamford Bridge, and it seems clear he’d be good enough to come in and continue his development at a big club like Liverpool, who look a safer bet than Chelsea in terms of winning major trophies in the immediate future.
