Ricci has already featured in 20 games in the ongoing campaign so far. In those many outings, he has a goal to his name and one assist as well. He is averaging 1.1 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, and 1.1 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).

The Italian midfielder plays as a defensive choice and is technically sound. He reads the game really well and positions himself well to deal with different situations. He does well in tight spaces, provides key passes, and can also shoot from a distance.

Samuele Ricci can be a valuable addition

Liverpool tried to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer but the player decided to stay at his boyhood club. While many sources are still reporting that the English giants wish to make another attempt, it’s unlikely to happen.

Hence, Samuele Ricci could be a serious target for the Reds in the January window. Arne Slot‘s side still needs a defensive midfielder and Ricci can be an ideal fit considering his qualities and playing style.

The 23-year-old is already proving himself and should fancy a move to the Premier League. He can serve at Anfield for many years to come. His current contract runs until 2026 and Torino has put a price tag of £29 million upon him.

Liverpool have all the financials to pull off the deal but it remains to be seen if they are serious about the player or not.
