Liverpool are being linked with a move to sign Egypt international Omar Marmoush as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and there has been no progress on an extension to his deal.
The 31-year-old revealed earlier this week that no one from the club had spoken to him about a new contract, despite an excellent start to the Premier League campaign. Salah has scored three goals and laid on three assists in four appearances and remains a key figure in the Liverpool side.
Saudi Pro League sides continue to express interest in signing Salah next summer and Spanish outlet Fichajes have claimed the winger is nearing a move to the Middle East. The report claims that Liverpool are lining up Salah’s international teammate, Marmoush, as a potential replacement in their forward line.
The 25-year-old produced the best season of his career after joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Wolfsburg on a free transfer in 2023.
He scored 17 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga side and has netted six times for Egypt at international level.
Several sides from English football have taken note of Marmoush’s performances in Germany with Arsenal, Crystal Palace and West Ham among those credited with interest.
