Liverpool have put in a formal offer to a club and are waiting for a decision from Singapore about whether it will be accepted.

The Reds have suffered recent disappointment in the transfer market with Martin Zubimendi rejecting them, but some fans have questioned why the club waited until August to start their transfer moves.

Now, bidding to make up for lost time, Liverpool have accelerated on a move for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

While there is no suggestion Liverpool do not see Alisson as their number 1, Mamardashvili is seen as the long term replacement for the Brazilian.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Relevo, Liverpool have put in a formal proposal of €35m for the goalkeeper.

That bid has been sent to Singapore, where Valencia’s owner Peter Lim is based, and he will make a decision on it.

Mamardashvili would like Valencia to accept the proposal.

While the bid is tempting for Valencia, it is unclear if they will accept it and they have so far not answered Liverpool.

Lim has been looking for closer to €40m.

It has also not been ruled out that Mamardashvili could be loaned out by Liverpool once he joins as the Reds want him to gain Premier League experience.
