Liverpool vs Ipswich team news

Curtis Jones picked up an injury in the win over Lille in midweek, but Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch's substitutions were pre-planned so the pair will be fit for this weekend. "The idea was to take Dom off and Ryan off at half-time," Arne Slot said. "But Curtis unfortunately couldn’t continue so that’s why Dom stayed a bit longer.

Conor Bradley was taken off a precautionary measure in the 86th minute, but Trent Alexander-Arnold will start on Saturday in any case. Cody Gakpo was rested, so should return to the line-up in place of Darwin Nunez, who again struggled to make an impact.

Ipswich will have Kalvin Phillips available again, after he was unable to face parent club Manchester City last time out. Otherwise, it is a case of as you were with Conor Chaplin, Chiedozie Ogbene, Axel Tuanzebe and Sammie Szmodics sidelined through injury.

Liverpool vs Ipswich prediction

Liverpool will rightly be wondering how many they could score after seeing a supposedly struggling Man City side put six past Ipswich last weekend. A relatively rotated side in midweek means the Reds will be somewhat refreshed, and that will go a long way.

Arsenal are playing at the same time - a rarity this season - and Arne Slot will want to make sure his team’s six-point lead at the top of the table is at least intact come 5pm.

Liverpool to win, 3-0.
