Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates has signed a new and improved contract with the club.

The 26-year-old’s current deal was set to run out at the end of next season but he has now agreed to terms that will keep him at the City Ground until 2028.

Yates is an academy graduate, having joined the club as a seven-year old in 2005, and has made over 200 appearances since his first team debut in 2017.

Thirty-five of those came in last season’s Premier League campaign, with the midfielder regularly skippering the side after club captain Joe Worrall left on loan.

Forest and Yates kick off their third season back in the top-flight with a home game against Bournemouth on Saturday, August 17.
