QPR are waiting on the fitness of midfielder Luke Amos after he was forced off with a tight hamstring in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion while Jake Clarke-Salter should be back fit for Tuesday night’s game against Huddersfield Town.

The R’s remain in the Championship top six despite this weekend’s loss to the Baggies and could leapfrog Norwich City into fourth, and close the gap on the top two to just two points, with a victory against the Terriers at Loftus Road tomorrow.

Stefan Johansen and Tyler Roberts will both be missing on Tuesday night due to injury but they could be another midfielder light after Amos was forced off in the second half on Saturday.

Speaking to FLW after the game, Beale revealed that the R’s faced a wait on his fitness.

He said: “He’s a bit tight in his hamstring, which is not great. We’ll see how he reports back tomorrow.”

There is some good news as Beale explained that Clarke-Salter, who has missed the last two games due to injury, is set to return.

Beale said: “Jake will be back for Tuesday.”

Who was in charge of QPR when they secured a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in 2012?

Mark Hughes Neil Warnock Steve McClaren Harry Redknapp

The Verdict

With Johansen already missing, the R’s will be hoping for good news concerning Amos but may feel it’s best not to risk him against Huddersfield anyway.

It would be a gutting blow for the player if the hamstring issue turns out to be more serious than first thought given the injury issues he’s faced since moving to Loftus Road.

We could see a change at centre-back with Clarke-Salter expected to be back fit as both Rob Dickie and Leon Balogun were not at their best in the defeat to West Brom.

The Terriers may be bottom of the Championship and are still finding their feet under new head coach Mark Fotheringham but they can be dangerous and should not be underestimated.
