The Hatters were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs in the 2022-23 season, and while they performed admirably in the top flight, they were relegated after a disappointing campaign that saw them accumulate just 26 points.

There were fears among Luton supporters that the club could lose manager Rob Edwards this summer after he was said to be under consideration as a potential replacement for Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town.

However, McKenna remained at Portman Road, and Edwards has ended speculation over his future by signing a new four-year contract with the Hatters, revealing that he is "really motivated" to lead the club back to the Premier League.

A number of senior players have left Kenilworth Road at the end of their contracts, including the likes of Dan Potts, Fred Onyedinma, Luke Berry and Admiral Muskwe, and it could be a busy summer as Edwards looks to rebuild his squad for a promotion push.

The transfer window is now open for business, and as speculation continues to gather pace, we rounded up all the latest Luton news.

Ian Poveda update

Luton are one of the teams believed to be interested in winger Ian Poveda following his departure from Leeds United, along with Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion and an unnamed French top flight team.

Poveda spent the second half of last season on loan with Wednesday, and while he only registered one assist in 10 appearances, he played a huge role in the Owls' survival in the Championship, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite.

According to The Star, Wednesday have entered "formal discussions" over a deal that would see Poveda return to Hillsborough on a permanent basis, and they are hopeful that his existing relationship with supporters and manager Danny Rohl will convince him to come back to the club.

However, Luton and West Brom are both expected to be among the promotion contenders in the second tier next season, and that could give them an advantage over the Owls in the race for Poveda's signature, while they could potentially offer the 24-year-old bigger wages.

West Ham eye Tim Krul

Journalist Alan Nixon claims that West Ham are interested in Luton goalkeeper Tim Krul.

The 36-year-old was believed to be viewed as an alternative to Sheffield United's Wes Foderingham, but Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth revealed that Foderingham has now agreed terms with the Hammers ahead of a potential move to the London Stadium, so it remains to be seen if that will impact their pursuit of Krul.

Even if West Ham cool their interest in Krul, the Dutchman could still depart Kenilworth Road this summer as he reportedly has "other admirers and possible first team chances elsewhere".

Sheffield United face Gabriel Osho stumbling block

According to Nixon, Sheffield United are keen on Luton defender Gabriel Osho.

The Blades were relegated from the Premier League with the Hatters this season, and as they plan for their return to the Championship, they are said to have "been in contact" with Osho, who is out of contract at Kenilworth Road.
