Lyon fans send message to Nicolás Tagliafico | OneFootball

Nicolás Tagliafico (32) is expected to leave Olympique Lyonnais when his contract expires at the end of the seaon, however, the club’s fans have now called for him to stay.

The Argentina international continues to play an important role for Lyon. This season, he has made 23 appearances in all competitions, making five goal contributions (four goals, one assist) in that time. Since joining OL back in the summer of 2022, he has made 92 appearances for the club.

However, as reported by Le Progrès in February, the likelihood is that Tagliafico will leave Lyon this summer. The publication cited the insecurity of the city of Lyon and his unhappiness with the recent departure of Pierre Sage as manager as the principal reasons behind this decision.

OL’s fans, however, have vocally called on the full-back to stay at the club beyond his current contract. During Les Gones’ 4-0 win over FCSB in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, OL’s fans unfurled a banner that read: “Tagliafico: a warrior that we want to see stay.” Time will tell whether their call is heeded.
