The winter sales at Olympique Lyonnais look set to continue, with Saïd Benrahma (29) now set to depart.

L’Équipe reports that OL have agreed to send the Algerian winger to Neom SC in the Saudi Arabian second tier for a reported fee of €15m with both sides finalising the details on Sunday.

In 13 Ligue 1 appearances this season Benrahma had one goal for Pierre Sage’s team, He came to Lyon on loan from West Ham United last February before signing a permanent deal in June.

Lyon paid £5.1m to acquire him on loan from the London club, with a purchase option of £12.3m. Benrahma rose to prominence in the EFL Championship with Brentford, scoring 27 goals in 83 appearances for them, while being named the supporters’ Player of the Year in 2019-20.

In 2022-23, he won the UEFA Europa Conference League with the Hammers while previously featuring in Ligue 1 at OGC Nice and on loan at Angers SCO.

Several Lyon players have left the club during the winter transfer window as they aim to get back into good financial standing following sanctions issued to them by the DNCG.

Overall he had 16 goal contributions during his time at Lyon, including 10 assists.
