Lyon set to sanction coach Paulo Fonseca internally after touchline behaviour towards referee Benoît Millot | OneFootball

According to a report from Chaîne L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais are set to punish manager Paulo Fonseca internally after his touchline behaviour towards referee Benoît Millot during OL’s match against Stade Brestois on Sunday. Already, the Portuguese coach could risk his season being finished on the touchline for Les Gones according to RMC Sport,  after going head to head with Millot following a red card as a penalty was being assessed by VAR.Fonseca apologised for his actions during his post-match press conference, but Ligue 1’s disciplinary committee are set to meet this week to decide Fonseca’s fate. Olympique de Marseille president Pablo Longoria was handed a 15-match ban following his ouburst last weekend against AJ Auxerre, where the Spaniard claimed that league was ‘corrupt’ on multiple occasions.After Fonseca’s outburst, his actions could come under the league’s rules governing behaviour, notably article eight regarding “intimidation or threatening behaviour.”  GFFN | George Boxall
