Aston Villa have won their past two away games, but haven’t taken three points from Man City on the road since 2007.
This game is expected to be too soon for Manuel Akanji, while John Stones and Erling Haaland are a few weeks behind the Swiss in terms of recovery. Nathan Ake and Rodri are fighting to be fit before the Club World Cup in the summer.
Aston Villa should have a fresh squad for their trip to the Etihad, unless there are injuries or suspensions down the line.
