Pep Guardiola’s side are on a strong run, unbeaten in six Premier League matches and securing their place in a third straight FA Cup final with victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Victory over Wolves would move City to just three points behind Arsenal in second, at least until the Gunners face Bournemouth on Saturday.

It could prove a tricky night at the Etihad for City, though, with Wolves making the trip having won six successive matches in the top-flight for the first time since 1970.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Man City vs Wolves is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The match will take place at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Man City vs Wolves team news

Ederson has been out since limping off against Crystal Palace a few weeks ago, but could return here having made the bench in the FA Cup win over Forest.

Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Erling Haaland remain unavailable, but the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden could come back into the starting lineup after being named on the bench at Wembley.

There are not believed to be any fresh injury concerns for Wolves to contend with, though Jean-Ricner Bellegard and Pablo Sarabia are among those pushing to force their way into the starting lineup.

Matheus Cunha scored one and assisted two more last weekend against Leicester and will be keen to put on another show here, amid ongoing speculation over his future.

Man City vs Wolves prediction

City have found a way to reverse the miserable form that derailed their season, even if it hasn’t been thrilling at times.

Guardiola has brought a level of control back to proceedings and City are finding a way to pick up results without blowing teams away.

Wolves will believe they can upset the odds, having impressed so much in recent weeks, but City do not look like a side about to be denied in their bid to secure a top-five finish.

Man City to win, 2-0.
