Manchester City extended their perfect record in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage to a fifth matchday, while Arsenal made it four wins in five.

Group C: Bayern Munich 4-0 Juventus, Vålerenga 1-3 Arsenal

Arsenal won 3-1 away to Norwegian side Vålerenga, taking the matter of winning the group down to the last matchday next week.

Alessia Russo picked out the bottom corner to open the scoring on 25 minutes, Frida Leonhardsen Maanum getting the second before half-time from Caitlin Foord’s cut-back.

Foord was again the provider as Russo volleyed home her second approaching the hour mark, Stine Blackstenius was twice denied by the post before Tilde Lindwall netted a late consolation for the hosts.

Bayern Munich stayed top of the group when beating Juventus 4-0. A first-half goal by Jovana Damnjanovic was added to after the break by Pernille Harder, Klara Bühl and Alara Sehitler.

Group D: Hammarby 0-3 Barcelona, Manchester City 2-0 St. Pölten

Manchester City’s Alex Greenwood was stretchered off following a tackle she made during a goalless first half against St Polten.

Aoba Fujino set up two goals for City after the restart with her low crosses providing tap-ins for Lily Murphy and Kerstin Casperij.

Ewa Pajor bagged a first-half brace for Barcelona away to Hammarby, Aitana Bonmati adding a late third.
