Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs challenging for the services of Bundesliga bomber Benjamin Sesko.

The 21-year-old started his career in his home country of Slovenia before being poached by RB Salzburg. As is often the case with the club’s most talented players, the striker made the switch from the Austrian champions to their sister club in Germany, RB Leipzig, in the summer of 2023.

The Slovenia international has now established himself as the club’s main centre-forward. This season, he already contributed with 11 goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, gaining himself a host of suitors, especially on the English shores.

According to Fichajes.net, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in signing Sesko in January.

The Red Devils will likely need a new addition to their attacking ranks, especially with Marcus Rashford increasingly likely to leave the club next month after being dropped from the squad.

Ruben Amorim has been craving for a new marksman who can deliver the goals on a consistent basis. And while his former Sporting CP pupil Viktor Gyokeres remains the ideal solution, Sesko can be a suitable alternative.

Moreover, Arsenal could also use a new striker given how their squad lacks a genuine Number 9, while Chelsea might consider adding a new centre-forward, even if Nicolas Jackson is finally finding his feet.

Sesko is highly rated on German soil, with the Bundesliga’s official website explaining how the Slovenian has been showing shades of Erling Haaland.

Nevertheless, signing the youngster won’t be an easy task, especially in the middle of the season. Leipzig have no plans of depriving themselves of their first-choice striker at this stage of the campaign, but it remains to be seen how would they react in the face of a tempting offer.

The source adds that Sesko’s value on the market has reached €80 million, while his contract runs until June 2029.
