The agents of former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham have reportedly approached Manchester United regarding a potential summer move.

United are in the market for a new striker following another challenging season for Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane netted only four Premier League goals, but his issues extend beyond the concerning statistics. He has also struggled with key aspects of a striker’s role, such as holding up the ball and linking play. Simply put, he has yet to reach the standard required at United.

Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap was identified as United’s first-choice target but he snubbed the club and is on the brink of completing a move to Chelsea.

Other players linked to Ruben Amorim’s side include Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP), Victor Osimhen (Napoli), Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) and Jean-Phillippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) just to mention a few names.

Now, Graeme Bailey of TBR Football states that Abraham has offered himself to United as the transfer window nears.

“TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Manchester United are one of the clubs who have been approached by his representatives regarding a possible move.”

“While United have been informed about the player’s willingness to move, they are not the only club informed about his situation.”

It’s understood that other Premier League teams like West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, Leeds United and Aston Villa are also keen on Abraham.

The England international spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at AC Milan from parent club AS Roma. He notched three goals and five assists in 28 Serie A appearances.

Across all competitions, Abraham managed 10 goals and seven assists.

Having signed Santiago Gimenez in January, the 27-year-old seems unlikely to extend his stay at the San Siro, which could explain why he is eyeing a return to the Premier League.

Abraham came through the ranks at Chelsea, eventually breaking into the team and leading the line for the Blues.

He fell out of favour under Thomas Tuchel, prompting his exit to Roma in 2021. Abraham still has two years left on his contract with Roma. He helped Chelsea win the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
