Manchester United have made a shock inquiry into the availability of former Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.
Grujic has impressed with his performances for Porto, having signed for the Portuguese side in a £10.25m deal from Liverpool in 2020.
The 26-year-old became Jurgen Klopp’s first signing at Liverpool, but spent much of his time with the club out on loan and made just eight league appearances for the Reds.

He has flourished since finding regular football at Porto and Serbian outlet Telegraf are reporting that Manchester United are among the clubs to have checked on his availability.
He has featured in a number of midfield roles for Porto and has become a key figure in Sérgio Conceição’s side, who are unbeaten when Grujic has played in the Primeira Liga this season.
Erik ten Hag is assessing midfield options ahead of the summer transfer window, with Scott McTominay linked with an exit and Marcel Sabitzer’s loan from Bayern Munich set to expire at the end of the season.
AC Milan are also interested in a deal and could reportedly hold the advantage over Ten Hag’s side given Grujic’s past allegiances to their north-west rivals.
It is understood Grujic would have reservations about representing the Red Devils, with only two players – Paul Ince and Michael Owen – having represented both clubs during the Premier League era.
