Man Utd goalkeeper makes brave 'way better' guarantee ahead of Lyon | OneFootball

Manchester United's André Onana has boldly boasted of his side's superiority to Lyon ahead of their Europa League quarter-final this week - one he has predicted them to win.

The sides meet on Thursday in the first leg in France and ahead of that clash, the former Inter goalkeeper may have offered the home side an extra slice of motivation with his comments.

"Does the season rest on the Europa League? 100%. We all know the importance of the game so we're going there with a winning mentality," Onana said, as quoted by The Independent.

"It hasn't been our best season but we have something big to win so we'll go for it. They're a very good team but we don't have to focus on them.

"I think we're better than them. We just have to go and show who we are. If we go with a winning mentality, are focused, stay compact and together and follow our game plan, we'll be winning the game.

"Of course it's not going to be easy but I think we're way better than them."

He can't be accused of lacking confidence! But will it come back to bite United?
