Manchester United have appointed Christopher Vivell as permanent Director of Recruitment, after he joined the club on a short-term deal last summer, according to the Athletic.

The former Chelsea and RB Leipzig executive will take on the club's global recruitment operation, scouting structure and emerging talent, while the large-scale restructure continues.

It's been reported that Vivell has accepted a reduced salary as part of his commitment to the restructuring process spearheaded by INEOS.

The German executive will report to Jason Wilcox, who has taken extra responsibility since the departure of sporting director Dan Ashworth.
