Manchester City had made contact with Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt over Hugo Larsson ahead of the summer transfer window, as per a new report.

City signed Omar Marmoush from Frankfurt for a reported £59 million in January, with the 26-year-old already proving his value having netted a hat-trick against Newcastle United and grabbing a crucial winner against Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola has hinted that the club will make some big decisions on contracts for a number of senior players who have underperformed this season, which could lead to a flurry of significant departures for the Blues ahead of the 2025-26 term.

The 20-year-old Sweden international has also attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, with Frankfurt expected to demand as much as €60 million for the midfielder.

Larsson is under contract at Frankfurt till 2029 and the German side are expected to make the most of a possible bidding war for their in-demand youngster, who has established himself as one of Europe’s brightest talents since joining Frankfurt from Malmo in 2023.
