Manchester City have entered talks to sign AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Manager Pep Guardiola is planning a summer rebuild, with midfield one of the key areas he wants to improve this summer.
Guardiola and his technical staff admire Reijnders. The club believe the Dutchman can help raise their level in midfield.
Man City have submitted a proposal worth around €60 million, including performance-based add-ons.
However, Milan may demand a higher fee before agreeing to let Reijnders leave.
Discussions are progressing well, with both clubs working to reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
Reijnders is known for his energy, ability to cover ground and strong impact in both attack and defence.
The Dutch international is comfortable playing in any midfield role and is composed on the ball.
He is also effective in the final third, possessing an ability to shoot from distance and deliver clever passes under pressure.
Reijnders bagged 15 goals and three assists in all competitions last season.
Man City are also linked with other players, including Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White.
However, Reijnders could be the ideal player to replace Kevin De Bruyne in their engine room.
