Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
The 22-year-old Magpies star moved to the St James’ Park club in 2023 and has established himself as a regular for them, going ahead to force his way into the England national team.
Livramento’s progress at Newcastle earned him his debut for the Three Lions last November, and Man City have become attracted to him as manager Pep Guardiola looks to rebuild his squad ahead of 2025-26.
The former Southampton star has played 31 games across all competitions for the Toons this term, and he is expected to be called up by new England manager Thomas Tuchel for the international games in March.
Man City want a replacement for the departed Kyle Walker, and they believe Livramento will be a perfect long-term replacement, but whether Newcastle are willing to lose a player with such a huge potential anytime soon remains to be seen.
He can play at both right-back and left-back, and it is a versatility Guardiola cherishes in his defenders.
Despite their struggles this term, Man City remain attractive suitors and the Magpies defender could be tempted to join them to boost his chances of winning the Premier League title and other major domestic and European trophies.
Newcastle could qualify for the Champions League next season and end the campaign with a major trophy for the first time since 1955, and doing either could help them hold on to Livramento and other stars.
However, failure to, and PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) concerns could force them to cash in on him, and more clubs could join Man City in the pursuit of his services should he become available.
